Guards

2023, Pierre de Massangis, 5 columns of 36cm high, on corten steel plate.

The top and bottom of the 5 guards are equilateral triangles that are reversed from each other. They can rotate around a pin in the bottom. The result is tight columns that appear to be crooked depending on their position: in the vertical photo, the front guard leans forward, the rear one leans back. They stand in line, but each in their own way. Spectators can create their own most beautiful arrangement of the guards by rotating them.
